- I'm also interested in having CD-ROM support for the Amiga. I have a SCSI
- CD-ROM drive. The main problem is software. You just can't use Amiga
- TrackDisk because DOS can't deal with large files. You really want to support
- the ISO High Serria format. Let me know if you here any more on this topic.

- Hello Rolfe --- Welcome to the CDROM Forum!
-
- There seems to be considerable interest in CDROM for network applications... in
- schools and elsewhere. Apple must have noticed, too, as they announced server
- support at the same time as the AppleCD SC drive itself.
-
- As to your BBS, you might touch base with BMUG (see #5,#6 and elsewhere)... I
- know they've taken a hard look at CDROM in that context, as many operators
- have. I hope you'll enjoy your visits to the Forum... Thanks for joining us!

- Hello John ---
-
- I had just heard that Tandy was picking up the Hitachi drive but understood it
- would be an "order-only" item... not on display in stores. Is that correct?

- Hi Bill ---
-
- The good news: we're all new here the past week or two...welcome aboard!
-
- The bad news: I don't know about the Bell & Howell system. Sounds like one of
- the multitude of vertical market applications now in the works or announced.
-
- What form is your data in now? And what are you presently doing to get at it?

- Add me to the list of people interested in CD-ROM support for the Amiga. As of
- yet I have NO drive, and would gladly accept suggestions as to which to get.

- We are looking for two books that might have been done on CD ROM. The first is
- The Metals Handbook from the American Society for Metals. The other is the
- Aerospace Materials Handbook. Please let me know if these or any other
- metalurgical material is available on CD ROM and if so, how would I find it?

- Could anyone who has any info on CD-ROM access for the Amiga computers, kindly
- leave in their message the word 'AMIGA' as part of the subject heading. This is
- to make it a bit easier(and cheaper for me!) to find them. Thanks in advance.

- Yes , its true. I hope that some stores have the ability to stock the item,
- because I see a good future for the media for alot of professional groups. I
- have one in my store, but I often get things I am not supposed to (carry). John
